Do girl betta fish make bubbles to tell you they are happy?

Girl bettas, also known as female bettas, do not make bubbles to communicate their happiness. Bubble nests are exclusive to male bettas and are part of their courtship and mating behaviors.

Male bettas build bubble nests near the water's surface using air and saliva. These nests serve two main purposes:
