How many baby fish can a betta have?

Betta fish can lay anywhere from 50 to 400 eggs at a time, but not all of these eggs will hatch, and not all of the fry that hatch will survive. The optimal conditions for raising betta fry require clean, warm water; live food of appropriate size; and no other aggressive fish in the tank. With regular water changes and careful feeding, it’s possible to raise over 100 betta fry from a single spawn.
