Does pickled herring have the same Omega-3 benefits as plain herring?
Pickled herring does have omega-3 benefits, but the amount may be slightly less than plain herring due to the preservation process. When herring is pickled, it undergoes a process called acidification, which can cause some of the omega-3 fatty acids to break down. However, pickled herring still contains a significant amount of omega-3s, and it is still a good source of these healthy fats.
