How to Make Creamy Swiss Steak in the Crock-Pot

Swiss steak can be cooked in a Crock-Pot and be ready in as little as three hours. It requires very little preparation and creates moist, tender steaks that melt in your mouth. Start it in the morning and leave it to cook all day for a no-hassle meal.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 1/2 pounds round steak, 3/4-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 medium onion
  • 10 3/4-ounce can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 small celery rib

Instructions

  1. Cut the round steak into serving-size pieces and set aside.

  2. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Dip the steak in the mixture, coating both sides.

  3. Chop the onion and place it in the bottom of the Crock-Pot. Add the steak.

  4. Spread the cream of mushroom soup over the steak. Chop the carrot and celery and add them on top of the soup.

  5. Cover and cook on low for eight to 10 hours or high for three to five hours. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
