How long does raw marinated chicken last in the refrigerator?
Raw marinated chicken should be kept in the refrigerator for no more than 2 days.
Here's why:
* Bacteria growth: Even with the marinade, bacteria can still grow on raw chicken, especially at room temperature.
* Safety: Eating raw chicken that has been marinated for longer than 2 days can increase your risk of foodborne illness.
Important Notes:
* Proper storage: Store marinated chicken in the refrigerator at 40°F (4°C) or below.
* Freezing: If you want to store marinated chicken longer, you can freeze it for up to 2-3 months.
* Thawing: Thaw frozen marinated chicken in the refrigerator, never at room temperature.
* Cooking: Cook marinated chicken thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) to kill any bacteria.
Always err on the side of caution when it comes to food safety. If you're unsure about the safety of your marinated chicken, it's best to throw it away.
