How to Make Iced Tea in a Microwave

Making tea in a microwave is a great alternative when your coffee pot is dirty or the iced tea maker breaks. Follow these steps for a quick and simple way to make tea in the microwave.

Instructions

  1. Gather your supplies. These include four small tea bags, or two large, and a large microwave safe cup or bowl.

  2. Pour 2 cups of water into the microwave safe cup or bowl.

  3. Tear off the paper tags on the tea bags, or plan to hang them over the side of the cup or bowl.

  4. Place the tea bags in the water. Hang the paper tags off the side of the container if you did not tear them off.

  5. Put the microwave safe container into the microwave and heat for 3 minutes.

  6. Fill a one gallon pitcher with ice. After the microwave turns off, carefully pour the hot tea into the pitcher.

  7. Add enough cold water to the pitcher to fill it to the top.
