How to Make a Non-Alcoholic Mock Sangria Punch

Sangria is a popular summer beverage, incorporating fresh fruit and a refreshing, citrus flavor. Traditionally, sangria is made using red wine, but it's also possible to make it without alcohol. With sangria, there is no definitive recipe. You can add different types of juice and fruit in order to get a flavor you like. Experiment with different quantities of your ingredients until you get the perfect non-alcoholic sangria punch.

Things You'll Need

  • Various fruits (strawberries, oranges, apples, pears, lemons)
  • Various juices (orange, lemon, apple, grape, cranberry, pomegranate)
  • Club soda
  • Sugar
  • Pitcher

Instructions

  1. Cut up slices of strawberries, oranges, lemons, apples or pears and set them aside. You should have enough fruit wedges or slices to cover the surface level of the punch while it's in the pitcher. The fruit will be mixed into the pitcher after the juices are stirred.

  2. Combine equal parts juice to club soda. To give non-alcoholic sangria the same color as regular sangria, you can use grape or cranberry juice. However, feel free to experiment with other juices like pomegranate or apple. If using a pitcher, you should have about 3-4 cups of both juice and club soda.

  3. Stir in one cup of orange juice and a half a cup of lemon juice. You can use the juice from real fruit or buy processed juice. Processed juice might give the punch a bit more flavor and sweetness.

  4. Add a cup of sugar if juice needs sweetening. You can also use sugar substitutes.

  5. Stir in the fruit wedges and slices to the punch.

  6. Cover the pitcher and set in refrigerator for several hours. Giving the punch time to sit will also help the flavors become stronger.

  7. Serve chilled or over ice.
