What is the greatest jihad?

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The greatest jihad is to struggle against your soul (i.e., your lower self) for the sake of Allah."

This hadith teaches us that the greatest struggle is not fighting against external enemies, but against our own inner desires and passions. It is to strive to be a better person, to purify our hearts, and to live in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

This struggle is not easy, but it is essential for our spiritual growth and development. It is what allows us to reach our full potential as human beings and to draw closer to Allah.

Some specific examples of how we can wage this inner struggle include:

1. Controlling our anger

2. Resisting temptation

3. Overcoming habits

4. Learning to be patient

5. Being humble

6. Seeking knowledge

7. Doing good deeds

8. Helping others

9. Making dhikr (remembrance of Allah)

10. Praying at night

By striving against our lower selves and struggling for the sake of Allah, we can achieve a higher level of spirituality and draw closer to Him.
