How to Make a St. Patrick's Day Green Punch With Sherbet
Raise a glass of good cheer on St. Patrick's Day with punch that gets its green color from lime sherbet. A minimalist punch takes minutes to prepare and requires only a few ingredients, while a more complex beverage features fresh fruit and alcohol. Chill your liquid ingredients to keep the drink cool without ice. Otherwise, melting ice dilutes the punch's flavor.
Things You'll Need
- Clear carbonated soda
- Large punch bowl
- Frozen citrus punch concentrate
- Wooden spoon or spatula
- Lime sherbet
- Ice cream scoop
Instructions
-
Pour clear carbonated soda, such as ginger ale or lemon-lime soda, into a large punch bowl. Empty cans of frozen citrus punch concentrate, such as limeade or lemonade, into the soda to add flavor and keep the drink cool without watering it down. Use approximately one can of frozen concentrate for every 2 liters of soda.
-
Stir the mixture with a large wooden spoon or spatula to combine. Use the back of the spoon to mash clumps of the concentrate, if necessary.
-
Add the lime sherbet to the punch just before you serve it. Drop scoopfuls of the sherbet into the punch, using approximately 1 quart of sherbet for every 2 liters of soda. Allow the punch to gradually turn green as the sherbet melts.
-
Stir the punch gently to help disperse the green color. Serve as soon as possible.
