Non-Alcohol Mixed Drinks

Non-alcoholic mixed drinks are often neglected at cocktail parties and barbecues and people that don't drink are left with club soda or fruit juice used to make the other cocktails. However, there is a wide variety of non-alcoholic mixed drinks, and offering even one at a party or gathering can make your designated drivers, teenagers and those that would simply prefer not to drink more comfortable. Try to match non-alcoholic drinks with food if you are serving it.

Beach Breeze Cocktail

  • The beach breeze cocktail is a non-alcoholic twist on the common sea breeze cocktail, which is traditionally made with vodka. To make the beach breeze, combine 4 oz. pineapple juice, 2 oz. fresh lime juice and 2 oz. cranberry juice in a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Stir the cocktail and squeeze a lime wedge over the drink and drop the lime in the glass. Serve immediately.

Ginger and Fred Cocktail

  • The Ginger and Fred Cocktail is loosely based on the Moscow mule cocktail, but adds some tropical fruit juice in place of the vodka. To make a Ginger and Fred cocktail, mix 2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice, 2 oz. fresh orange juice and 1 oz. cranberry juice in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into an ice-filled highball glass and top with 3 oz. ginger beer. Garnish the rim of the glass with a fresh orange slice and serve.

Ginger Julep Cocktail

  • The ginger julep is a non-alcoholic variation on the classic bourbon-based drink, the mint julep. To make a ginger julep, muddle 8 mint leaves, 1/2 oz. fresh lime juice, 1 tsp. sugar and 1/4 oz. grenadine in the bottom of a chilled highball glass. Fill the glass with ice and top with 5 oz. of ginger ale. Garnish the cocktail with a fresh mint sprig and serve.

Paradise Cooler Cocktail

  • The paradise cooler cocktail is a sweet, fruity drink with tropical flavors. To make a paradise cooler, combine 2 oz. guava nectar, 2 oz. fresh lime juice, 1 oz. pineapple juice, 1 oz. fresh orange juice and 1/2 oz. grenadine syrup in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into a chilled highball glass filled with ice cubes. Top the drink with 2 oz. club soda and garnish with a fresh lime wedge before serving.
