How many carbohydrates in whisky?
Whisky contains very little to no carbohydrates.
Here's why:
* Whisky is primarily made from fermented grains: Grains like barley, corn, rye, or wheat are used in the process. These grains contain carbohydrates, but they are largely converted to alcohol during fermentation.
* Distillation removes carbohydrates: During distillation, the fermented mash is heated, and the alcohol vaporizes. This process removes nearly all of the remaining carbohydrates, leaving behind a very pure alcohol solution.
* Whisky is typically very low in sugar: A typical serving of whisky has less than 0.1 grams of carbohydrates.
Therefore, you can enjoy a glass of whisky without worrying about consuming significant carbohydrates.
