Who invented the beverage can?

While the concept of a beverage can had been around for a while, the first truly practical and commercially successful beverage can was invented by Ermal Cleon Fraze in 1935.

He designed a can with a "pull-tab" opening mechanism and patented it in 1935. His company, American Can Company, began commercially producing these cans for beer in 1935.

However, the modern aluminum can wasn't developed until 1959 by Erich Heckler at the Aluminum Company of America (Alcoa). This innovation made beverage cans lighter, more efficient, and easier to recycle, leading to their widespread adoption today.
