Does brandy or whiskey have more sugar in it?

Neither brandy nor whiskey have significant amounts of sugar.

Here's why:

* Distillation Process: Both brandy and whiskey are distilled alcoholic beverages. Distillation removes most of the water and sugar from the original fermented mash. The resulting product is primarily alcohol and water, with very little residual sugar.

* Aging: Both brandy and whiskey are typically aged in wooden barrels, which further reduces any remaining sugar content. The wood contributes flavor and color, but not sugar.

Important Note:

While brandy and whiskey themselves have minimal sugar, some flavored or sweetened versions may be added sugar. This is particularly true for flavored whiskies or brandies marketed as "liqueurs."

Always check the label for specific ingredients and sugar content if you are concerned about sugar intake.
