How do you separate whiskey and water?
You can't easily separate whiskey and water once they've been mixed. Here's why:
* Whiskey is a solution: Whiskey is essentially a solution of ethanol (alcohol) and water, along with other trace compounds. Solutions are homogeneous mixtures, meaning the components are evenly distributed and cannot be easily separated by physical means.
* Distillation: The process used to make whiskey *does* involve separating ethanol from water, but this is done through distillation, a complex process requiring specialized equipment.
* Evaporation: You could try evaporating the water, leaving the whiskey behind. This would be very inefficient and likely damage the whiskey due to the high heat involved.
The Bottom Line: Once whiskey and water are mixed, they become a single entity. You can't realistically separate them without altering the whiskey itself.
