How many units in a gin and tonic?
There's no fixed answer to how many units are in a gin and tonic because it depends on:
* The strength of the gin: Different gins have different alcohol by volume (ABV).
* The amount of gin: The more gin you use, the more units.
* The size of the drink: A larger gin and tonic will have more units than a smaller one.
Here's a general guideline:
* A standard gin and tonic (using 50ml of 40% ABV gin) will contain about 2 units of alcohol.
To calculate the units in your gin and tonic:
1. Find the ABV of your gin.
2. Multiply the ABV by the amount of gin (in ml) and divide by 1000. This gives you the amount of pure alcohol in ml.
3. Divide the amount of pure alcohol (in ml) by 8. This will give you the number of units.
Example:
* You're using 60ml of 40% ABV gin.
* 40 x 60 / 1000 = 2.4ml pure alcohol
* 2.4 / 8 = 0.3 units
Remember: Always drink responsibly and be aware of the alcohol content of your drinks.
