What Alcohol strength refers to the in a beverage?
Alcohol strength, also known as alcohol content, refers to the percentage of alcohol by volume (ABV) in a beverage.
Here's what it means:
* ABV is a measure of the volume of pure alcohol present in a given volume of the beverage.
* For example, a beer with an ABV of 5% means that 5% of the volume of the beer is pure ethanol alcohol.
Important Note: Alcohol strength is not the same as proof. Proof is a measure that is twice the ABV. So, a beverage with 50 proof is equivalent to 25% ABV.
