How is a 2 liter soda bottle turned into dispenser?

Materials:

- 2-liter soda bottle

- Utility Knife

- Scissors

- Masking tape

- Measuring tape or ruler

Instructions

1. Prepare the soda bottle.

-Empty the soda bottle and rinse it out thoroughly.

-Carefully remove the foil around the cap.

2. Cut the bottle.

- Place the soda bottle upside down on the table to stabilize it while cutting.

- Use a utility knife to score a line around the bottle 16 mm (0.63 in) above the bottom. Do not cut the bottle completely.

- Use scissors to carefully cut along this score line, separating the bottom of the bottle from the top part.

3. Make the dispenser spout.

- Measure the diameter of the bottle cap.

- Use scissors to cut a semi-circular piece of masking tape with the diameter of the cap.

4. Attach the spout.

-Remove the cap from the bottle and remove any glue or residue inside the cap.

-Place the top part of the bottle (with the neck) upside down on the table.

-Place the masking tape over the bottle opening, covering it.

- Screw the cap into its thread inside the bottle. The part of the cap with masking tape should face inside.

-Cut the masking tape on the inside so it is flush with the edge of the cap.

-Cut the masking tape on the outside so that the spout is 2-3 inches long.

5. Assemble the dispenser.

-Take the lower part of the bottle and screw it onto the upper part with the cap. Check that the threads engage, you just need to screw and fasten but not over-tighten.

6. Use the dispenser.

-Fill the lower part of the bottle with the desired liquid, leaving a few inches of air at the top.

-Turn the dispenser upside down and gently squeeze the bottle to dispense the liquid. Turn it back up to stop.

Tips

-To keep the dispenser airtight, seal the cap and spout with plastic wrap or aluminum foil when not in use.

-Use warm water to clean the dispenser after each use.
