Can you take a bottle of whiskey to Australia?

The Australian government allows visitors to bring one litre of alcohol (opened or unopened) into Australia duty-free. This allowance is for beverages with an alcohol content of up to 22% alcohol by volume. For beverages with an alcohol content above 22%, the duty-free allowance is reduced to 250 millilitres.

Visitors who wish to bring more alcohol into Australia must declare the goods at customs and pay the appropriate duty and taxes.
