Vodka

• Originating in Russia, vodka was first made from potatoes. Modern vodka is made from barley, wheat or rye and is clear with little taste.

Bourbon

• Bourbon is made with fresh water, corn, wheat and rye. The elements are mixed into what is known as mash and distilled, or cooked, then stored in barrels to ferment.

Scotch

• Scotch is a single malt whiskey made from barley, water and yeast. The ingredients are ground, cooked and aged for 12 to 20 years before bottling to sell or serve.

Gin

• Gin consists of malted barley, wheat, corn and rye distilled with natural botanicals. The spirit comes in two varieties, full-bodied and dry.

Beer

• Beer is a brewed beverage made from wheat, rye, barley and hops. The drink comes in multiple levels of alcohol content and varies in color from pale yellow to black.

Wine

• Wine is traditionally made from sweet fruits, water, tannin and sugar. The mixture is allowed to ferment and age before being served.
