How to Make Lemon Infused Vodka
Lemon infused vodka is very easy to make and can be used to spruce up and add a unique taste to a number of cocktails--or can be consumed over ice by itself. When added to classic summer cocktails like the Madras, Cape Codder and Tropics, lemon infused vodka can add a distinctly different touch. When used to prepare a vodka martini, the lemon infused vodka adds a wonderful fruit taste that is strong but not overwhelming. This recipe makes one 750 ml bottle of lemon infused vodka.
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups Meyer lemons, washed and very thinly sliced
- Large pitcher with top
- 750 ml good quality vodka
- Plastic wrap (optional)
- Clean 750 ml bottle
- Reusable coffee filter
- Paper or plastic label
Instructions
-
Put the washed and thinly sliced Meyer lemons into a large pitcher and add the vodka. Cover the pitcher with a tight-fitting top or plastic wrap.
-
Store the vodka in a cool, dark place for 21 days. Shake the pitcher gently for 10 to 15 seconds daily.
-
Strain the Meyer lemon pieces through a re-usable coffee filter, catching the vodka in a clean 750 ml bottle.
-
Place a paper or plastic label on the battle to identify that it is lemon infused vodka. Place a date on the bottle immediately.
