Instructions

1. Choose a type of alcohol to drink. Consult with a bartender if you would like advice about what type of alcohol to drink as a shot. Purchase the alcohol.

2. Pour the alcohol into a shot glass. The average shot glass holds approximately 1.5 oz. of alcohol.

3. Consider mixing a small amount of juice into the shot. Alternatively, if the alcohol is a dessert liquor, add a dollop of whipped cream to the top of the shot. If the alcohol is tequila, it is traditional to lick some salt before taking the shot and then suck the juice out of a lime after taking the shot to soften the burn of the alcohol on one's taste buds.

4. Hold the shot glass in one hand. Take a deep breath and let it out. Tilt your head back and open your mouth. Quickly pour the shot into your mouth so that the alcohol falls down the back of your throat.
