• Rum has such a distinctive flavor that finding a substitute for it proves difficult. Substituting rum with mango rum, on the other hand, adds a level of exoticism. • Just because mango rum sounds like it's already off the charts doesn't mean you have to hold back. It actually provides a strong base for some fancy martinis. Mixing 1 part mango rum, 1 part white rum, 1/2 part each of sweetened lime juice, triple sec and cranberry juice, and a splash of mango puree creates the mango martini. If you are hankering for something fruitier, make a metrosexual cocktail by mixing equal parts mango and orange rums, 1/2 part of banana liqueur and a splash of pineapple juice.

Non-Alcoholic Mixers

• Mango rum's strong flavor works well as a base liquor that complements simple mixers well. Mixing together 1 part mango rum, 1 part orange juice and 1 part pineapple juice with 2 parts papaya juice on ice makes a bikini bottom. If you want less vitamin C in your drink, pour 1 part mango rum and 2 parts grapefruit-flavored soda on the rocks, or 1 shot of mango rum topped with iced tea.

Party Shots

• Mango rum's fruitiness and sweetness ensure that shots go down fast and easy. Chill 1 part mango rum, 1 part pineapple rum and 4 parts orange juice in a shaker tin, and strain the mixture into shot glasses for a round of golden tongue shots. If you need a little extra to keep going, mix 1 part mango rum and 4 parts citrus-flavored energy drink in a shaker tin with ice for a couple of monkey bite shots.
