What Can You Do With Strawberry Irish Cream Liquor?

Irish cream liqueur, known for its noticeable hints of Irish whiskey, comes in sweet, mellow strawberry flavor. Strawberry Irish cream liqueur distinguishes itself as a true specialty liquor in that there are few things that mix well with it -- but that doesn't mean you can't do a lot with it.

On a Dessert Island

  • Strawberry Irish cream sweetens edible and drinkable desserts. A variation on strawberry shortcake, sprinkle a little pound or angel food cake with strawberry Irish cream and top it with fresh strawberries and cream. Pair strawberry Irish cream on the rocks with a piece of dark chocolate or decorate a dessert plate with swirls of the liqueur. Mix it with single or double cream and dunk pastries or doughnuts into it.

I Dairy You To

  • If you find that strawberry Irish cream isn't creamy enough, mix it with different dairy products. Top a scoop of vanilla, chocolate or even strawberry ice cream with strawberry Irish cream for a grown-up ice cream sundae or blend it with ice cream for a milkshake. Drop a shot of the liqueur into a glass of milk for an adult strawberry milk beverage or mix it with half-and-half and serve it on the rocks.

Irish Creamed

  • Strawberry Irish cream can substitute regular Irish cream to create new classic cocktails. Substitute a white Russian's half-and-half with strawberry Irish cream and its coffee liqueur with chocolate liqueur -- layer with vanilla vodka to mimic the flavors and consistency of Neapolitan ice cream. Mix the Irish car bomb shot, which is whiskey and Irish cream dropped into a stout beer, with strawberry Irish cream instead to let the strawberry flavor enhance the stout's hints of chocolate.

The Last Nail in the Coffee

  • Add a little kick to your coffee by mixing in a little strawberry Irish cream. Substitute strawberry Irish cream for regular Irish cream in an Irish cream coffee, which is just coffee, Irish whiskey and Irish cream topped with whipped cream. If you have the time and the means, whip the liqueur into the whipped cream. Drop a shot of the liqueur into specialty coffee drinks, such as a latte or mocha, for more of an eye-opener.
