The Brazilian real (BRL) is the official currency of Brazil. The cruzeiro was the currency of Brazil from 1942 to 1994, but it is no longer in circulation.

So, while you could theoretically buy a cup of coffee with cruzeiros if you found someone willing to accept them as a historical curiosity, you wouldn't be able to use them in everyday transactions.
