Where was Irish coffee invented?
Irish coffee was invented at Limerick's Foynes Flying Boat Base in County Limerick, Ireland in 1943.
The story goes that Joe Sheridan, the chef at the base, was trying to create a warm drink for passengers who had been delayed due to bad weather. He combined Irish whiskey, hot coffee, sugar, and cream to create this now iconic drink.
