Is coffee a fruit or vegetable?

To get a bit technical here, coffee beans or coffee berries—whatever you want to call them—are the pits inside the fruit of the Coffea plant. To be exact, they are the seeds inside the pit of the fruit. In other words, the pulp of the fruit itself is removed, and the seed inside the fruit is what you typically roast, grind, and brew to make your cup of joe.
