When was Goodwood Cup created?

The Goodwood Cup was first run in 1823. Initially a handicap, it became a weight-for-age event in 1900. The Goodwood Cup was one of the leading stayer's events of the British racing calendar, before the eclipse of the weight-for-age race by handicap events.
