Sweet Vodka Specialty Drinks

Vodka is one of the most flavored and infused liquors because the regular, unadulterated spirit has hardly any flavor or scent. Sweet vodkas are made either through pure infusion of ingredients, like vanilla pods or lemon twists, or by flavoring them with extracts and artificial flavors. Mix sweet flavored or infused vodkas into specialty cocktails for sugary mixed drinks with the right amount of adult attitude.

Fruity Flavors

  • Blueberries, raspberries, lemons, watermelons and mangoes give flavored and infused vodkas both sweetness and substance. One specialty cocktail with apple vodka is the apple-tini, which is 3 parts apple-flavored vodka mixed with 2 parts green apple liqueur or schnapps. Other fruity specialty cocktails include a cosmopolitan with lemon-infused vodka, which is 5 parts lemon vodka mixed with 1 part each orange liqueur, cranberry juice and lime juice, and the mango tango, which is 1 part each mango vodka and banana liqueur and 2 parts pineapple juice with a splash of lime juice.

Chocoholics Unanimous

  • Chocolate-flavored and infused vodkas cover quite a lot of ground with their different varieties, which include double chocolate, whipped chocolate cream and chocolate-covered cherries and raspberries. One of the simplest cocktails with chocolate vodka is a chocolate martini, which is 3 parts chocolate vodka and 1 part creme de cacao chilled and served up. Other specialty cocktails include the chocolate to die for, which is a shot of milk chocolate vodka topped with cream soda, and the starry night martini, which is equal parts Irish cream, coffee liqueur and chocolate and vanilla vodkas with a splash of cream.

Candied Cocktails

  • Flavored and infused vodkas often mimic the tastes of childhood, such as marshmallows, different types of candies, root beer and cotton candy. Most candied vodkas are sweet enough to be served chilled by themselves. A few simple specialty drinks include the morning whipped, which is equal parts whipped cream vodka and coffee liqueur; the island cake, which is 2 parts cake-flavored vodka and 1 part each pineapple and orange juices; and the Irish cookie, which is equal parts cookie dough flavored vodka and Irish cream. Most candied vodka specialty drinks may also be made of shots -- mix smaller amounts and pour into shot glasses.

Surprisingly Sweet

  • A few sweet-flavored and infused vodkas fall outside of the normal categories, like sweet and green tea vodkas, as well as lemongrass, ginger and cinnamon. One simple specialty drink is a tea-flavored vodka like sweet, green or Earl Grey tea topped with soda and a splash of fresh lemon or orange juice. Other sweet and flavorful specialty cocktails include the Shanghai lemon drop martini, which is 1 part ginger vodka, 2 parts limoncello and a few splashes of bitters, and the chocolate coconut martini, which is 2 parts coconut pandan vodka and 1 part chocolate liqueur.
