Can coca cola ruin a engine?

Coca cola should not be used inside any vehicle's gas tank or engine as some people assume can increase a car’s octane levels because it does not contain ethanol. The sugar molecules within coca cola are too large to combust like gasoline or ethanol inside gas engines and will therefore have a negative effect when used this way.
