How long will gingerbread cookies keep?
Properly stored, gingerbread cookies will last:
- at room temperature for about 2 weeks;
- in the refrigerator for about 3 weeks;
- in the freezer for up to 3 to 6 months.
Gingerbread cookies are best stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. If storing at room temperature, make sure the container is tightly sealed and the cookies are not exposed to sunlight or heat. Gingerbread cookies can be refrigerated or frozen to extend their shelf life, but make sure they are properly wrapped or sealed to prevent freezer burn.
