What is the first candy made?
It's impossible to say definitively what the *very first* candy was, as candy-making predates written records. However, we can look at the earliest known forms of candy:
* Ancient Egypt: Archaeological evidence suggests people in ancient Egypt were making candies from honey, dates, and nuts as early as 3000 BC.
* Ancient Greece: Candy-like treats were made from honey, fruits, and nuts.
* Ancient Rome: Romans enjoyed confections made from honey, sesame seeds, and nuts.
So, while we can't say for sure what the first candy was, it's safe to say that honey, dates, nuts, and fruits were likely key ingredients in the very earliest forms of candy.
