How to Make Candy Using Peanut Butter & Powdered Sugar
Any recipe that requires only two ingredients is a miracle. It shortens the shopping list and pads the wallet, and nearly anyone at any age or cooking skill-level can participate. Peanut butter and powdered sugar candy balls require no added ingredients and no cooking. Children can assist as they require no heating or cutting. Also consider them a quick last-minute fix for when surprise guests show up.
Things You'll Need
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp. milk (optional)
- Baking tray
- Parchment or wax paper
Instructions
-
Measure and pour 2 cups of powdered confectioner's sugar into a mixing bowl large enough for you to knead inside of with both hands.
-
Add 2 cups of peanut butter to the sugar and mix slowly with a sturdy spoon so as not to send the sugar flying. Once the dough becomes too thick to stir, begin kneading the dough with your hands. If it sticks to your fingers, add more powdered sugar. If it is crumbly and does not stick together, add more peanut butter or 1 tbsp. of milk.
-
Line a baking tray or large party platter with wax or parchment paper. Scoop 1 to 2 tbsp. of dough at a time and roll into balls. Place each ball on the covered tray, and place the tray in the fridge until they are ready to be consumed. Once they are chilled, you can layer them in an airtight container with a piece of wax or parchment paper in between each layer.
