What type of energy is a cake?

A cake, in its raw form, doesn't possess energy itself. It's simply a food item composed of ingredients like flour, sugar, eggs, and butter.

However, when we eat the cake, our bodies break down the carbohydrates, fats, and proteins within it to release energy in the form of chemical energy (specifically, ATP - adenosine triphosphate). This energy is then used for various bodily functions like movement, growth, and maintaining body temperature.

So, while a cake doesn't have inherent energy, it contains potential energy that can be converted into usable energy for our bodies.
