What is rich German cake?
Rich German cake, also known as Deutscher Schokoladenkuchen or German chocolate cake, is a chocolate cake that originated in the United States, not Germany. It consists of several layers of moist chocolate cake filled with a gooey coconut-pecan frosting and covered in a rich chocolate ganache. The cake is believed to have been created by Sam German, a baker from Texas, in the 1950s.
