How to Color Chocolate for Cake Pops (4 Steps)

Things You'll Need

  • Cake mix
  • 1 can frosting
  • Lollipop sticks
  • 12 oz. white chocolate
  • Liquid food coloring
  • Decorations (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the cake mix according to package instructions and bake it in the oven. Once done, crumble it into a bowl and add the can of frosting. Shape the cake pops into balls and add the lollipop sticks to them.

  2. Melt the white chocolate in a double boiler on the stove top or in a microwave safe bowl.

  3. Add two to three drops of the food coloring color of your choice to the melted white chocolate. Stir with a wooden spoon to mix it into the chocolate. Add more drops of color to create a more saturated hue.

  4. Dip the pops in the white chocolate to coat them with color and allow to dry. Decorate with sprinkles or candy if desired.
