Why did lucozade choose the colour orange?
The brand of Lucozade was first manufactured in 1927 by a Newcastle pharmacist named William Owen. When looking for a colour to distinguish his drink from other similar glucose drinks, he experimented on a number of colours from pink, yellow, blue and green, before choosing the orange/yellow colour we instantly associate with Lucozade today. Owen is quoted in saying "I liked orange. I'd always associated that with health and energy".
Today, Lucozade is owned and sold by Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I, a manufacturer and marketer of non-alcoholic beverages.
