What if you taste it and too spicy?
If you taste something and it's too spicy, there are a few things you can do to try to reduce the spiciness:
1. Drink milk. The proteins in milk can bind to the capsaicin, the compound that gives chili peppers their spiciness, and help to remove them from your mouth.
2. Eat yogurt or sour cream. These dairy products can also help to bind to the capsaicin and reduce the spiciness.
3. Eat rice or bread. These bland foods can help to absorb some of the spiciness and reduce the burning sensation.
4. Drink a cold beverage. Cold water or other beverages can help to numb the pain and reduce the spiciness.
5. Use a baking soda paste. Make a paste with baking soda and water and apply it to your tongue and mouth. The baking soda can help to neutralize the acids in the chili peppers and reduce the spiciness.
6. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever. If the spiciness is severe, you may want to take an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to help reduce the pain.
