Should cucumbers be stored in the refrigerator?
Cucumbers are best stored unwashed and unsealed at temperatures between 55 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit (13 to 16 degrees Celsius) with up to 95% humidity. When stored in these conditions, cucumbers can usually last for up to two weeks.
The ideal place to store cucumbers is on the counter, away from direct sunlight. The refrigerator can be too cold for cucumbers, and can also cause them to lose their flavor and texture.
If you do need to store cucumbers in the refrigerator, wrap them in a damp paper towel or plastic bag to help maintain their moisture. They should be consumed within a few days.
