How long does it take an orange tree to produce fruit if planted by seed?
It can take anywhere from 3 to 15 years for an orange tree to bear fruit if grown from seed. However, trees grown from seed generally produce inferior quality fruit and take longer to mature than trees grown from grafted rootstock. When selecting a method, commercial growers use grafted trees from proven rootstock in order to achieve better fruit quality and shorten the waiting time to harvest.
