Where do cacao beans grow?
The vast majority of cacao beans (around 95%) grow in the tropics within 20°N and 20°S of the Equator. Most of the world's cacao is grown in West Africa (Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria), Indonesia, and Central and South America (Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, the Dominican Republic). These regions provide ideal growing conditions for cacao trees, with high temperatures, sufficient rainfall, and plenty of sunlight.
