Climate Considerations

• The pomegranate prefers warm, tropical climates for optimal growing conditions. The fruit tends to grow best in regions which experience hot and dry summers and cool winters. The pomegranate holds up well in frost.

Harvest

• Pomegranates are commonly planted between February and March. The fall and winter months of October to January mark prime pomegranate season, though some varieties are harvested as soon as August.

Considerations

• Some areas of the world maintain ideal conditions year-round to produce and harvest pomegranates. For instance, some areas of southern Florida may produce pomegranates throughout the year given appropriate conditions and growers in areas of northern Florida may harvest them as early as July.
