How to Store Guava (3 Steps)
Guava is used in juices, sorbets and purees but is hardly seen whole in the U.S. There are about 150 varieties of this plum-sized fruit and each has its own flavor. Some are sweet and some even have a chocolaty flavor. Colors range from yellow to brighter pink and everything between. Guava can be eaten with the peel or without and can also be consumed with the edible seeds inside. Store guava in the pantry, refrigerator or freezer.

- Knife
- Peeler
- Freezer-safe airtight plastic containers
- Freezer-safe zipper-lock plastic bags
- Blender
Instructions

Keep the guava at room temperature, away from heat or the sun until the fruit is ripe, about two to five
days. Once ripe, cut and use the guava. You will know a guava is ripe when it is soft to the touch.

Store ripe guava in the refrigerator for three to four days. Put the guava, either processed or whole into an airtight, zip-lock plastic bag or storage container.

Freeze your guava fruit once it has reached its ripeness or after it has been in the refrigerator for three to four days. Cut up the guava into chunks and puree in a blender. You can peel the skin off the fruit or leave it intact. Pour the puree into freezer safe plastic containers or zipper-lock plastic bags. Frozen guava can be stored for 10 to 12 months.
