How to Freeze Orange Slices Without Them Sticking Together
Antioxidant-rich oranges keep their nutritional value when preserved, making the freezer an ideal storage spot for keeping this healthy fruit on hand. The high vitamin-C content in oranges acts as a natural preservative, slowing down the oxidation process and discoloration of oranges, and allowing them to retain their flavor. You can dry pack this no-fuss fruit without it sticking and without the need for artificial sweeteners and syrups.
Things You'll Need
- Water
- Paper towel
- Knife
- Freezer-safe glass container with airtight lid
- Wax paper
Instructions

Rinse the whole orange under water and rub it dry with a paper towel to clean it. Peel off the skin of the orange.

Slice the orange into sections and cut them into smaller pieces, if desired. Remove and discard the seeds, membranes and pith.

Line the orange slices along the surface of a rectangular or square glass container that is freezer-safe and has an airtight lid. Place wax paper over the slices and arrange another layer of oranges on the wax paper. Repeat the process, leaving 1/2 inch of headspace at the top of the container to accommodate the expansion of the orange slices when they freeze.

Seal the airtight lid on the container. Place the oranges in the freezer and store for four to six months.
