Does celery need sun or shade?
Celery needs full sun to grow well. When grown in partial shade, celery plants will become leggy and produce fewer leaves. Celery is a cool season crop, so it is best to start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost. Transplant seedlings into the garden after the last spring frost, spacing them 8-12 inches apart in rows 24-36 inches apart. Water celery plants regularly, especially during hot weather.
