Summary:
The Dim Sum Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dim sum dishes, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and taste. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Chinese cuisine, a passion for cooking, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dim sum dishes, including steamed buns, dumplings, and wontons.
- Ensuring the quality of ingredients by carefully selecting and preparing them.
- Following recipes accurately and consistently to ensure the same great taste is served to customers every time.
- Collaborating with other cooks to ensure timely preparation and service of dishes.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen work station.
- Complying with all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Keeping up-to-date with new cooking trends and techniques.
- Participating in regular food tasting and quality control assessments.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Dim Sum Cook for at least 2 years in a reputable Chinese restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of Chinese cuisine and dim sum dishes.
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for cooking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Valid Food Handler's Permit.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
