Can lightly salted butter be left out of the refrigerator for days?
Lightly-salted butter should not be left out of the refrigerator for more than a few hours. Butter is a dairy product and, like other dairy products, it is perishable and should be kept refrigerated at or below 40°F (4°C) to slow the growth of bacteria that can spoil it. Even lightly-salted butter will eventually spoil if it is left out at room temperature for too long.
