How to Cook With All-Clad Stainless

The Stainless collection is the most popular line of residential and commercial cookware manufactured by All-Clad, the company reports. It is made of magnetic stainless steel, which makes it perfect for induction stoves; although it also works great with electric and gas stoves. All-Clad cookware is manufactured in the United States. It is durable, highly conductive and dishwasher safe, making it a favorite of many cooks.

Instructions

  1. Check your All-Clad stainless cookware to ensure it is completely clean and free of any food residue or film. If the cookware is not completely clean before heating, it will become discolored.

  2. Preheat the All-Clad stainless cookware for one to two minutes on the stove over low heat, unless you are boiling liquids, in which case medium to medium-high heat can be used.

  3. Add cold oil, butter or margarine to the preheated pan to prevent food from sticking. You will want to use at least enough to lightly coat the bottom of the pan.

  4. Cook foods at lower temperatures than normal, because stainless cookware heats evenly and retains more heat than most types of cookware. Most foods should be cooked over low to medium heat when using stainless cookware.

  5. Wait for liquids to boil or food to begin cooking before adding salt, otherwise the salt may cause permanent “small white dots” to form on the surface of your stainless cookware.
