2. Make a fist with one hand and place it between the person's navel and ribcage.
3. Grasp your fist with your other hand and pull inward and upward, using quick, forceful thrusts.
4. Repeat the thrusts until the object is expelled, the person begins to breathe or cough, or they lose consciousness.
5. If the person loses consciousness, call 911 and start CPR.
