How to Warm Up Apple Dumplings

Apple dumplings are a well-loved dessert that consists of a cinnamon-spiced peeled and cored apple surrounded by a golden brown, crispy dough exterior. Traditionally, this tasty treat is served warm and it is often covered in heavy syrup and topped with whipped cream or ice cream. To prolong their freshness, leftover dumplings can either be stored in the refrigerator or freezer. Although apple dumplings can be eaten cold, to really enjoy them at their best, heat the leftover dumplings up in the oven to enjoy that fresh-baked flavor.

Things You'll Need

  • Glass baking dish
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Remove the apple dumplings from the refrigerator and place them in a glass baking dish.

  3. Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil. Tent the foil if necessary to prevent it from coming in contact with the tops of the dumplings.

  4. Heat the dumplings for 10 to 12 minutes until they're warmed through and the exterior is crisp and lightly browned. You may need to increase the cooking time to 20 to 25 minutes if the dumplings were frozen. You can thaw the dumplings in the refrigerator before reheating to save time.
