How long can you boil marmalade?
The traditional boiling time for marmalade is roughly 15-20 minutes, or until it has reached setting point. For a softer set marmalade, boil it for a few minutes less. For a firmer set marmalade, boil it for a few minutes more.
To test whether the marmalade is ready, spoon a small amount onto a cold plate and leave it for a few minutes. If the marmalade wrinkles when pushed with your finger, it has set. If it is still too runny, boil it for a few minutes more.
The cooking time for marmalade will also vary depending on the amount of sugar used. If more sugar is used, it will take longer for the marmalade to set.
